Tour Porto-Lisbon

Start your trip by crossing the Luiz I Bridge, which connects Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia. Crossing this bridge offers incredible views of Porto and the Douro River. Once in Gaia, we followed along the coast, meandering along the river until we reached the Atlantic Ocean.

From Gaia, we headed south along the Atlântica cycle path, a road that follows the coast. The trip is peaceful and offers a great view of the Atlantic Ocean.

We arrived at Espinho, a city known for its beaches and casino, making it an excellent stop to rest and enjoy the seaside environment. Leaving Espinho, we followed the coast to Ovar, a city famous for its beaches and famous tiles. The route passes through several beaches, which makes for a pleasant and peaceful trip. Ovar is also an excellent place to sample local cuisine, such as the famous Pão de Ló de Ovar.

The route from Ovar to Mira by bike along the coast is an excellent way to explore the coastal region of Portugal, taking advantage of the natural scenery, with the Ria de Aveiro always at our side. Good opportunity for bird lovers.

We start in Ovar, a city known for its salt flats and architectural heritage (Azulejo). Here, the first thing we can notice will be the scenery of the Ria de Aveiro, which heads south. Then, cycling along the coast, we pass through small fishing villages, such as Furadouro, Torreira, S. Jacinto, peaceful and extensive beaches.

From S.Jacinto we go to the other side of the ria via Ferryboat to Barra de Aveiro, the city of Aveiro, famous for its canals and colorful houses and moliceiro boats. After passing through Barra de Aveiro, we head south towards Mira, a city known for its extensive beach and the tranquility of its environment. The end of the route to the ocean, with an invigorating feeling of being surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes.

The first km of this stage is characterized by cycle paths that cross the Mira lagoons and connect to the Atlantic dune complex, in between we cross the small villages that define the Center of Portugal, crossing the contiguous municipality of Cantanhede and passing through places such as the Praia de Mira Ethnographic Museum, the National Forests and the lagoons there, Cabo Mondego, Serra da Boa Viagem until Figueira.

The stage begins with the Ferry crossing the Mondego River to Cova da Gala beach, then we head south through small villages until we find the cycle path that will take you through Pinhal de Leiria, a pine forest planted by King D. Dinis in the 14th century. Afterwards, we cycle along the cycle path that crosses this immense pine forest and the beaches of Pedrogão, Praia da Vieira and Praia de São Pedro de Moel São Pedro de Moel is a beach sheltered from the wind, ideal for surfing.

This stage always goes along the Atlantic until we arrive at Foz do Arelho, when leaving São Pedro de Moel we head towards Nazaré along the cycle path, Nazaré is a city located in the central region of Portugal, known worldwide for its giant waves, which attract surfers from all over the world, it has a strong connection with fishing tradition and tourism. We followed the cycle path to São Martinho do Porto beach, known for its shell-shaped bay, to Foz do Arelho beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. At Foz do Arelho we said goodbye to the Atlantic and headed inland for 16 km to Óbidos. Óbidos is a charming historic city located in central Portugal. Known for its medieval castle, narrow, picturesque streets and well-preserved architecture.
